Brexit
« on: March 25, 2019, 01:05:30 AM »
With 4 days to go unless some hurried legislation is passed, it seems timely to start a Brexit thread.

So, on balance, has the process gone well - are we ready?

Well employment is up, but we're still in. When are we meant to exit again? In all this excitement I kinda lost count.

It seems that the nation runs rather well when politicians aren't doing much. I hope they do even less very soon.

Yes, it's still a thing, and burping delightedly for all to hear, after a surfeit of raw meat delivered by the new keepers.

Oh what joy, the spivs are trying to take full control.
I'm guessing the red meat was produced in an unhygienic manner and briefly washed in chlorine.

Yes exactly. Sadly the Trumpian behaviour of the Tories gaslighting their own fantasy version of events, looks like it will lead to a terrible stint of national inflation and poverty.
Possibly even the breakup of the UK.

Without Scotland we will be forced into a one party state, because there seems no prospect of any other party challenging the Conservatives. Meanwhile while the Brexit campaign and vote is still in relatively recent memory, swathes of people who "ticked the wrong box" will be determined to stick with their own version of sovereignty, no matter how disastrous it is for the rest of us.
